I had one for about a day and a coworker wanted it more. Very light and thin. Looked great. And the young line cook that bought it loves it.

Those are my first ever gyuto and petty, as well as my first ever woodworking projects...and of all the knives I've made since they're still my two favorites.

looks great, hope you remembered to take them off the bed before you went to bed that night

  4. Right? That would have been a nasty surprise, lol!

And thanks! I love those two little knives almost as much as he does, lol.

even with a page reload ? Comes up for me

  7. I can now see it in web. Tapatalk app still no.

  8. Photobucket seems to react strangely to this place. I had to put them in like four times before I could get both of them to show up even in the preview.

Cris, you can just drag and drop the photos into the post. Tapatalk can act weird with lots of stuff, we don't control that though.

  10. Thanks Jim. I hadn't realized that, lol. I've since found it pretty easy to use the embed image/media options at the top of the reply window though. What I was doing is typing out the img tags, and pasting the photobucket link between them. The site software automatically puts hidden url tags around pasted links...so it was a bit of a mess for awhile.

    All cleared up now though!

  11. I sure wish I had known about the coin and gifted knives. What about Japanese culture? Do the Japanese subscribe to this severing ties symbolism? Hope not!

I have a friend of Japanese descent; I gifted him a nice Yanagi-ba years ago, as a thank you for all the wonderful food he and his wife shared with me and others where I work.

    Learn something new every day.
