    Astra are great blades
but I think you'll love the Personna Blue. I know I did. and they generally garner a lot of respect.
    I took one 13 shaves.

Interesting shave! Had like a day and a half of stubble, first day back to work after 2 days off. First pass was great. Went ear to chin, still nice even with buffing my neck under my jawbone to the middle of my throat. Went south to north, a little irritation, 1 or 2 weepers. Went diagonal across my neck area to help get those stubborn neck hairs for the 4th pass. Several small weepers. But it was my closest shave yet, BBS except for 1 small patch near where I cut a bump on my face a week or so ago that I am not going as much on to let it heal. I had some irritation on mostly the neck area, Proraso aftershave and alum/styptic stung a little, but not too bad. Neck was a little bit raw feeling for an hour or so, but not as bad as when I used the GSB's a few weeks ago. I really only felt it if I touched my neck where the GSB's I felt it for a few hours with no contact on my neck. Interested to see how tomorrow goes!

I did try to hone up and use one of my SR's a couple days ago (monday evening) and I did one pass WTG and it felt horrible, so I finished with the DE and Sharps blades. Had some irritation from that.

Used the Feathers for 2 more shaves, smooth, but some irritation on the neck, but slightly less weepers/razor burn on the 2nd and 3rd shaves. Tried the Personna Reds today and used the Arko Cream for the first time. Got a MUCH nicer lather with the cream vs the other soaps I have tried. First 3 passes with the personna Reds left near BBS, but I pushed it and did a 4th and 5th clean up passes. Felt fine until I did the alum block and aftershave!! Little red bumps and weepers, but once they calmed down after about 2 hours, shave was the smoothest I have ever gotten. Even like 6 hours later as I type this, still BBS except for 1 tiny patch of some very light peach fuzz that is coming out on my left cheek near my ear. Gonna let my neck rest up until Tues and then try the Reds again with a 3 pass shave before work and see how that goes. I really pushed it this time to see just how smooth of a shave I could get, but I was buffing a lot on the 4th and 5th passes and the lather wasn't as good as the first 3 passes either.

Seems weird but I characterize Feathers as too sharp. I had trouble getting irritation free shaves with them until about the third shave which I equated to dulling them up a bit. Many consider them the best and sharpest blades so they are their favorite. For me, the premium price and bad shaves caused me to keep on the search. Now paying 12 cents a blade for Crystals or blue Personnas .

The GSB felt sharper than the Feathers to me? The Personna Red Platinum's felt really good for the first passes, can't wait to see how they feel after a few days of growth and letting my face recover from the first shave with them!

Nice! Did 2 more shaves with the Personna reds. 2nd shave wasn't quite as close as the first and I had less weepers, but still there. Today I stuck with a 3 pass shave and got no weepers or irritation, but the shave left some light stubble under my neck/jawline area because I wasn't super aggressive with the buffing there.

Rather than buffing you may want to simply add an additional pass. As an example if you are going WTG then ATG add another ATG from a slightly biased direction from the previous one. The goal is reduction on these passes. If you are using no pressure and stretching your skin you will get no weepers and the blade will be able to be more effective at beard reduction. Getting weepers and irritation is not because of blade choice, rather an undeveloped technique.
