    One of the gyutos I am working on, it is only rough ground 270mm in 52100 , yellow box burl , buffalo horn and white spacer

    It is lot bigger than it looks ok :D lol
    The angle and my photo technique ( or the lack of it) makes it look smaller than it is , here is after I cleaned up some .
    The other gyuto is getting a ringed gidgee and brass handle

    Just received my western handled, 52100 gyuto and I'm super stoked. Will give more of a review once I've had a chance to use it a bit.

  13. Our entire system would collapse. Seriously. What's even more hilarious, is that while buildings are built in inches (12 to a foot), and each inch is divisible by two (and of course four...1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16...etc), underground work is done in TENTHS of a foot. Yep, same one foot length, just divided by ten. And then the tenths are divided into hundredths. So one foot, is divided by 100.

    You want to see someone go nuts, hand a carpenter an 'engineer's' tape with tenths, lol. I've seen whole sections of buildings done wrong with that simple mistake.

    Anyway though, I've gotten used to working in metric on the kitchen knives...my brain almost automatically converts since I know 25mm is about 1". Oddly enough though, it messes me up all over again when it comes to my other blades.

    Go figure.
