  1. Faaaark!

Just what I was afraid of .... absolutely perfect!

Mert has arrived. Now what's your maker's mark going to be?

    Congratulations :)

  2. What about just MERT?

    Kinda like DEVIN .... ;)

  3. I like that.

No mate , it s nowhere near perfect .i don't know if even a "perfect " knife exists. It cuts well but the blade seems not perfectly flat because I am still grinding free hand on a small multitool until my grinder comes in. Then a lot of stones and handfinishing
My makers mark is in works , I am waiting for the delivery, I have copied it at the link

  5. Actual perfection is a never ending quest, no doubt, but artistically and stylistically the profile of blade and shape of handle are pretty well spot on to me.

Makers mark looks very cool, too.

    Nice one, Mert!

Last blade for a while, waiting for my makers mark and going 20straight days to work with sous on annual leave

I would be honoured to make you one and probably loose sleep over it considering amount of the fine handles you made and blades you have seen :)

Mike, that is most certainly it. Additionally, Mert made a way cool tiger maple saya to go with it. You can also see the pic I took in the "show me your newest knife" thread on the other board. I can honestly say, after a couple of weeks of use, that this is one of the best knives that I have ever used and/or held in my hand EVER. You can just see and feel the pride and honor that was put into the making of such a incredible knife. WAY PLEASED! Well done, Mert.

  17. Waw that's some serious praise . Well done Mert!

I love seeing the forge lid

This is what I got working on so far
2 forged funayuki s 170mm in blue 2 core and a 240mm gyuto in 52100 with a bone handle , that's something first for me , I hope I can pull it off
