Eat every bean and pea on your plate.

One of those nights where nothing was planned for dinner and nothing sounded good. Dug around and found a soft tomato, wilting cilantro, an almost-brown lime, and some oyster mushrooms on the verge of drying out. Also a bag of small scallops in the freezer.

Added butter, olive oil, cajun spices, garlic, scallions, and some sherry (I was out of white wine) and toasted up a piece of bread to swab in the juice, and dinner was actually pretty good.

    Thanks, guys!

As a matter of fact, we had old shoe for dinner tonight. If you use lace ups, you don't even have to floss afterward. :D

I figure if you add butter, olive oil, and garlic to anything, you can't go too far wrong.

Now I'm pondering how a part-olive oil poundcake with blackberry, roasted garlic, and balsamic sauce would be (topped with a bit of cracked black pepper.) Maybe it's just the shoe getting to me.

"Soul food" . I saw Lucretia's after seeing one elsewhere. She was right , as comfortable a handle as I've ever used.

Thanks guys! Pizza was good for dinner, even better for lunch today with a little age on the sauce. The best news is that there are still another couple small slices left--with a big salad we'll get a 3rd round of pizza. Happy dance! May spend the rest of the year feeding off various leftovers instead of cooking.

  18. Yum!

And I'll bet you still have some of that sauce to hold you over.
