  2. Amazing looking rice....and of course duck too Schanop.

Taylor - great presentation on the tri-tip. I need to try smoking - I've always braised or roasted.

Jason - I see some big chunks of pork something in those beans - that looks delicious!

Ya know my friend said the same thing when I sent her the pic..."wow big pieces of ham".
I'm wondering what kind of beans people eat without big chunks of ham involved?

Today's meal - not very tasty and they refused to add single malt to it... No worries, nothing serious. Dehydrated during a stomach flu and the blood pressure tanked to 65/55 which gets you close to passing out as I now know... Not fishing for wishes that would derail the food thread, just bored while waiting for a hospital bed after 12h in he ER... And a reminder to drink enough.

Apparently alcohol isn't a substantial hydration source. I mean..there's water in it!

Thanks Jim, I will leave the hospital within 2h. Considering what I looked and felt like yesterday, that surprised the docs and myself a bit, all functions went back to normal very quickly and as a side effect I learned that my heart is perfectly healthy which is comforting to know for a 52 year old inactive obese man... So, back to the normal program :)

  8. Wishing you the best Steph. Absolutely nothing fun about what you went through. Did the same thing 3 years ago. The good news is you're going home and on the mend.

Dinner on a rainy day, risotto with pan fried king fish, and sautéed zucchini.

Awesome. I can almost taste it.

  12. I would happily enjoy that on a non-rainy day.

Salmon with Pineapple Salsa (salsa is a combination of grilled pineapple, red onion, red bell pepper, ginger, jalepeno, cilantro, lime juice, and roasted cashews)

Thanks Jim! Not really sure what kind of salmon it is, all the bag says on the side is "Pink Salmon." Found a 2lb bag for $10 with individual vacuum packed pieces. Here's a pic of the bag:

Ahh I was hoping for a good fish story with danger, a pretty girl, and a heroic ending with the landing of some exotic fish.
The supermarket will have to do.
