Taylor, that plate looks great! Is that fennel and cilantro I see with the chicken?

I have yet to start eating my dinner. Just a quick Friday night meal, rice cooked in a pan and finish with prawn under a grill together with Aji sashimi and agi grilled.

    Oh .. I am hungry.

Wow, That rice pan brings back all my Spain memories, beautiful. I know that this is not that terribly difficult to make, yet I would never think of making one for myself. I really have to work on my attitudes...

I literally had one of those gasping moments. Clicked the What's Cooking link as I took a sip of coffee and turned my head to view my other monitor. Turned my head back and was greeted with rice and seafood *GASP*.
    I WANT SOME!

That shrimp pan just made my list of things to cook in the near future. It looks amazing!

Linguini with snake beans, thinly sliced flank steak, pancetta, and etc for three tonight.

  10. Tonight I cooked pörkölt, a Hungarian stew. It is called goulash in Dutch, not to be confused with gulyas, which is a Hungarian soup  .

I was trying a new knife, so I added a salad with lots of veggies.

  12. Looks good, but where are the dumplings and the sour cream? :)
I thought gulyas is the person who is looking after the herd, kinda cowboy.

Nix dumplings - egg noodles! ;) I love a good gulasch (Germans also got it wring...).

  14. You're right, Stegan, noodles . Although not everyone might recognize them as noodles. They're called csipetke in Hungary.

An you're right as well, NoMarci, gulyas is a herdsman. The soup he used to make is gulyasleves.

Deutsche und Holländer, wir haben so viel falsch... Wir sollten emigrieren in die States ;).

This looks really good! I'm glad I'm starting cooking now, or I'd be going crazy with hunger.

The local farmers' market opened, and we loaded up today. Lots of nice greens, purple asparagus, mushrooms, eggs from bug eating chickens, and goodies from the pig lady. Also restocked from our olive oil and vinegar guy. Had a big salad of fresh mixed greens for lunch, and then for dinner tonite had asparagus, morel mushrooms dredged in flour & fried in butter, and a little tenderloin beef with black garlic butter.

    It was a good day.

It was the girlfriend's mother's birthday today, so we started off with Mint Pea Soup.

And went to homemade Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp and Basil.

Not pictured was a crepe cake the girlfriend made with Nutella.
