  1. First, ko-gyuto number 1, with a new pair of shoes :D.

This one actually shipped out to my cousin in northern Nevada :).

  2. Second, we have Kyle Odell's 155mm petty/utility.

    20150428_142311.jpg 20150428_142433.jpg 20150428_142454.jpg 20150428_142510.jpg 20150428_142545.jpg 20150428_142719.jpg 20150428_142806.jpg 20150428_142826.jpg 20150428_142841.jpg 20150428_142847.jpg 20150428_142935.jpg 20150428_142944.jpg 20150428_143000.jpg 20150428_143020.jpg 20150428_143034.jpg 20150428_143042.jpg 20150428_143118.jpg

This one went to Monterey California :).

  3. That is a beauty, Cris! Congratulations. I love the handle and the wave pattern on the blade is great. Just a question: why did you make the choil so round? I have one knife with such a choil (a Masakage) and to me it's not the handiest choil for a pinch grip.

  4. And finally this 150mm petty went to my frend Trevor McDonough who works with Rob Thomas in Vegas.

I've been tossing around the idea of having Rob do me up some damascus san mai for a special run of knives.

Still haven't decided yet though lol.

Soooo...there we are! That's what left my shop today :).

And hopefully we'll be getting some reports on some of them in the next few weeks.

  6. Thanks Mark!

I actually designed them this way to be more comfortable in a pinch grip. Plus it's sort of an aesthetic trademark now lol. Honestly though, I've never heard of anyone who's used one of my knives not liking it. I'm curious if there's any actual differences in the one you used and mine?

A major difference is that the Masakage necks I've seen have all been pretty narrow, like on my Takayuki Shibata and Carter. I believe if the necks were a little "taller" coming out of the handle, they'd be more comfortable. I haven't used a knife from Cris (yet) but my intuition is that they'll be more cozy in hand.

  8. I'd like that a lot. Kyle's probably the best bet. The ko-gyuto is going to be used in barbecue competitions I guess...but my cousin is no chef lol. Trevor's petty is a gift to his dad for home use.

  9. You're right about that.
