This is a knife I have done recently , just had time to post it . I have always liked the looks of rustic vintage sabatier's but couldn't see my self pay what they are sold for on eBay , plus I have never been a rehandle or rehab kind of guy anyway .One of the first knives I made was a sabatier conversion to a hidden tang and by removing the bolster I actually liked the profile everyone was raving about for the years , I figured shorter ones would make great line knives . Since I gave my line knife away I wanted to do my version of sabatier with some slight modifications but keeping most of what I like intact .

I have chosen takefu San mai sumingashi for the steel , hand forged and water quenched . I have used nickel bolsters with cooper accents . Handle is 3400years old bog oak and I have made it slimmer compared to my usual western handles resembling more hidden tang sabatier handles . It is 20cm on the edge and 42mm tall , slight asymetric ground for right handed user ,thanks for looking ,
    Mert

I think that might be my favorite yet. Simple elegance at its finest.

Love it, Mert. Very clean. I can almost feel it in my hand just looking at it. Are you planning to make more?
