250mm suminagashi wa sujihiki with walrus Ivory

Had a rough week in knifemaking where I had to take break and do something else so I don't destroy my customs in progress , made a sword , cleaned the work shop , organised the wood stash , slowly recovered from sickness and then finally decided to go back making knives again .
This knife is hand forged from takefu Shiro core steel , I feel like I managed to manipulate the cladding best to my abilities this time along with centring the core steel . Water quenched around 62 hrc .
The blade is 250mm long , 40mm tall . It tapers from 3.7mm towards the tip , very stiff . It is symmetrical ground with wide bevels on both sides and thin behind the edge .
I wanted to keep the handle simple but elegant , it is octagonal shaped , I have used walrus Ivory for ferrule and spacer with stabilised ancient bog oak and copper spacer
Asking $700 plus shipping , due to falling aud against usd I will adjust the price for possible buyers in down under

As for the taking a break thing. I seem to need one a month...it can be tough, and we're our harshest critics.

 

Wow beautiful knife. If I didn't just buy a similar knife off you I would jump all over this. In fact if its still around come payday I probably still will.
