    ;)

  2. Me too, it's one of my favorite things about ironwood to be honest. With the carving of the handle not much of the sapwood survived though. Just a bit on the flank. I think the end result was well worth it though :).

  3. Wow, looks like you shoved some LEDs inside the wood...does it glow in the dark too?!

    Very nice!

    I agree. Stunning as always.

  5. Thanks guys!

Yes Joe, it's LED's! Getting the battery to fit next to the tang is a pain in the rear lol :D.

Beauty. Always a little different, but with your fingerprints all over it! (figuratively speaking)

  9. Thanks guys!

    Mmmmm....thin bevels!

  10. Don't lie there isn't a bevel there

  11. But...are you sure?!? Could just be a glare from the window I guess :D.

  12. Oh also!

A customer of mine has decided to go another route on his handle, and so I told him I'd put the original piece of wood up for sale for him. It's California buckeye burl, stabilized by Islewoods in Hawaii (I've used their wood before, it's well stabilized). Beautiful piece to be honest, I just have too much buckeye burl as it is, and the customer needs to recoup his money. Price is $40 plus shipping. Feel free to drop me a DM if you're interested!

  13. Wow, that's a serious hunk of handle material :cool1. I'm still waiting to see what comes of that black and orange piece you have in your stash.

  14. An interesting progression of polishing for you guys :).

These are all three at the same level of polish (5000 grit). However, the pictures illustrate various kinds of finishes/etches that are applied afterwards to get things to look how I want them.

Anyhow, just a fun share for you all, lol. This one's almost wrapped up!

  15. Me too! I think Lucretia's going for that one. She's up after Cheflarge this week :D.
