I asked my kids what's they wanted for X mas dinner. " Potato latkes, noodle kugel, and pot roast". I had to smile a little? I opted for a strip loin roast ala Lucretia, we just finished leftover pot roast . Should have took pictures sooner. image.jpeg

Nice looking roast! What's the verdict on the cut? Did it go over well?

Mine is in the oven right now. Needed to be cooked today, so we're doing pizza AND roast today. Although we might skip sides this evening and just gnaw on some flesh with horseradish sauce and vast quantities of wine.

Just a simple slow red braised pork hock, steamed bun and veggie. Soak the bun in the sauce, and tear the skin and meat with fork,, ,, ,, yum.

Never eaten Beef Wellington, looks delicious. What is the cut? Looks like it should be reserved for the accomplished chef.

It isn't as hard as it seems. It can take can a little bit of time to prepare. We used a large piece of beef tenderloin but eye round or even a cut down strip would work.

Black eyed peas for new year's--you should have lots of luck. (looks good, too!)

Did you have some corn bread, too?

The wife is away for the week so whipped myself up a bolognese sauce and washed it down with one of the left over ingredient.
