Beautiful :) Is it stabilized wood or is that not needed for sayas?

Here's little bro. It needs to be polished, but I'm at work, this I don't have my buffer....

This is going to match the Kitaeji pretty damned nicely.

So you're a lefty and wear your watch on your left hand? I guess if you're used to it...

The saya looks good too :D

Yup. I used to wear it on my right, but I switched for some reason or another, and now I just wear it there. Haha.

And thanks. I like the saya....

This is a Takeda saya made out of some beautiful maple from our friend Mark Farley:

My latest piece for a customer is rehandling a Hiromoto AS Gyuto any way I'd like. I borrowed inspiration from some mosaic pin stock I got from Michael Rader, randomly.

It still needs to be finished (pins brought flush), and polished, but I'm really liking this one!

I've realized that all woods start looking the same on a solid maple work top like what I use. It's a cool (unfinished) piece, and it really does the job, but man have I wasted time looking for what's right in front of my nose! Haha

My table is so cluddered... just how I roll at home. Work space at the work kitchen is pristine. Go figure

Looking forward to seeing it all oiled up and ready to go

Here it is, all finished up. The customer asked for it to be "clean, yet obviously handmade". I'm pleased with the finished product, and the result of me "giving it some soul".

I finished this with Tru-Oil, which gives a nice organic and stable end product.
