That's really great. Lots of character remains. Jim, did you take it for a test drive and if so, what were your thoughts. Great job.

Thanks Gents- she needs a good amount of time on the stones yet Mike. This weekend is chock a block with family so it looks like next week before I will get to it.

Anxiously awaiting. I do really like the look of the Deba, but wonder if it is a knife that would get used much. With that thick blade, seems to be for more heavy work than I typically do.

Like a lot of projects I wish I could start over again, that being said it was a very fun project and I am pleased with the outcome.
It occurred to me as I was wearing out my 500 stone that even if this knife was only sharpened once a year that would mean its been done over 100 times! There is still plenty of character left on the knife, the spine is a testament to getting the job done, the handle is still full of hard working DNA. What history.
While there is not much "meat left on the bone" on this knife its sure to last many more decades with some care. I ran it up through the 10000K JKS stone and diamond stropped it- I have a nice monkey patch on my arm, she does pop hairs. Ronnie enjoy!

That is so unbelievably cool. It's a perfect balance between restored and still having the character that makes it one of a kind, and still have extremely sentimental value.

    Very well done, Jim !!

I can't believe this knife made it so long without someone deciding to throw it away, or otherwise losing it to the ravages of time and other relatives. And then to have such a complete transformation is astounding.
