I thought I'd show off some of the slabs I have in various drying stages. Actually the Leopardwood is scheduled to be cut up next week along with some Cocobolo and some other goodies. The rest, who knows. They're waxed and stuck away in a closet. I'll check them every month or so, but some of them have moisture contents in the 30s. Patience is a virtue.

This Leopardwood was kiln dried and looks a lot like Sycamore.

Here's a closeup of the figure on a slab of Spalted Maple Blackline Burl. The ends are waxed so the figure there doesn't pop like the center.

Next is a piece of Cherry Burl that you may have seen before on another channel.

Here are a couple of pieces of Snakewood that still have a long way to go. I wish all the sides were as nice as these, but you'll get to judge that for yourselves.

Finally, a couple of pieces of Spalted Maple Burl. Yes there are some surface voids, but the three slabs I have are large enough t0 play with and I'm hoping to get some top notch blanks out of them.

And like I said, patience is a virtue.

Oops, made a mistake. The last two pictures are of Spalted Oak Burl not Maple.

    Hope that is not Italian

It's NY Italian*, more specifically Brooklyn Italian.

Example: A hot girl walks by. Minga!

*My neighbor across the street is from Italy. I tell him he's not Italian because he's not from New York.

That could get you a piece of italian leather to the face in the uk, As spelt closely, Minger means quite the opposite, example, "She's a right old Minger"

Mystery solved. And thank you so much for comparing my slabs to a hot girl. That goes way beyond my expectations.

The Leoparwood in this thread has been cut and is currently with K&G for stabilizing. I'll have it in the store as soon as I can once it's back in my hands.
