Bloodroot Blades

We had a stage last weekend that had a really cool Bloodroot bullnose knife. The in hand feel was excellent, and the handle was something else. It wasn't as good a cutter as I would have liked, but I didn't sharpen it, and it hadn't been to the stones in a while. All in all it was very nice. I haven't seen what these go for, other than in Lefty's shop, but I was pretty impressed with the general feeling of the knife. I wish I had more time with it, and had thought to take a picture, but alas I was working. Except for when I helped the stage smuggle two sacks of crawfish onto a train. That was not work, and I did get a picture.

I have been loving some of the handles they have been making lately .If you have twitter they are pretty active on it and post a lot of pictures.

I bought this guy from their newsletter late last year and it became my go to knife during service. It was listed as an 8 inch slicer and it is essentially what would be called a line knife by most.

The metal is extremely reactive and still browns onions and shallots but otherwise a joy to use.

    What steel did they use?

I don't know about this particular knife, but I've had a couple and both were said to be L6, from recycled sawmill blades.

It just said reclaimed sawmill blade, I don't know the exact steel.
