I would loan you mine but am half worried about it getting lost in customs... It is nice but everything I can do with it I can do with a one of gyutos or Sabs.

I do like the Scoop ability of the Namiki lol, but Ill give the gyuto a fair chance before I do anything... this forum may not be all that bad after all get the gyuto and I may be done

I mean you need an unclad carbon, a mirror polished carbon, a damascus, a kiruichi finished and a super custom and a lightsaber and a...

Lets not forget There are pens to compete with here, and I never was that big a spender, I just helped others very efficiently out of their money lol, I found pens just as I found my razors and had the colleciton I wanted,... Im almost there with pens as well one or two more and Ill be good

but yeah your probably right,... Ill end up with more then one, those Kirkimajiggar thingy Gyuto types are cool looking, and Fairly certain Damascus doesnt come in my price range lol I do need a carving knife though, so after the Gyuto comes in (Man I cant believe I have a 2 - 3 month wait on that lol) in a couple of months (awww but I want it now) ill get some use and see what my needs are,... then I can start window shopping for stuff I dont need but must acquire,... or you know, get other people to acquire it and live vicariously through them, im good at that too

So is Andrew for the record, he's an acquisition consultant ninja !!! never forget

Perhaps I missed it, but what do you have in route? 2 to 3 months is nothing. My last knife was about 18 months and I am plan on going longer than that for the next one.

18 months isnt long when you already have a knife lol,... 4 months for your first real knife will be excruciating. B&B has a group buy going on with Dave Martell, I have a... one sec while I look it up, enjoy the elevator muskrat love song here,...

Hiromoto AG 240mm Gyuto Dave is gonna thin, sharpen, round, and etch on its way

will look a lot like this when its done

No handle?! I went for pins and a handle on mine... can't wait!

And VG-10 Damascus stuff isn't that expensive. You can find one for less than the Hiromoto you just paid for.

well theres a tidbit I didnt need to know

and no, no handle... I have other things on the Horizon I need to keep funds available for as well so I kept it kind of simple

If only one could have bought - just a random thought- a hammered Damascus clad VG10 blade with a laminated mahogany handle, professionally sharpened with smoothed choil and spine. Probably a nakiri under 170......

The worst part of all these Japanese knife names is that I can't tell if you're spelling them correctly. o_O
