OK so the Yani is gona be a LEFTY!!!!!!!!

 

Some Work in progress. Stainless filet/boning knives

 

Single bev Damascus Yani. LEFTY grind Work in Progress..


First couple photos are at around a 400 grit finish. and last ones are at 2000 Grit and the thing Ura and bevel are damn near a mirror. Sry for the crappy pictures. But hey. I tried..

Will continue on this one after I get the MO cut, the pre buy filet knives boxed and shipped. and the Damascus santoku and damascus filet knife sharpened and listed for sale. Yea. I have a few Irons in the fire this week..

Made some progress on the Yani handle. This one took me some time to select the materials and the handle lay out. But I am very pleased with the outcome. Its elegant and classic stylings really make me smile. Im working on a matching Saya then Ill share some photos of the completed knife and saya

Thanks! This was the first LEFTY I have done. I couldn't be happier with how it cuts and the grind is well. Yea. Its nice. Dont want to toot my own horn here. But this thing cuts and feels so right.

Its fighting me BAD on getting a good photo, Gona try a different color backdrop tomorrow.

What are the materials for the yanagi handle? It's stunning and refined. The entire knife is a work of art.

 

African Blackwood, ivory, stainless and black spacers. Just pure elegance And beauty

 

Handle size is slightly larger than Randys normal wa to suit a bigger hand.

 

Do i get the impression this could be heading down under Ian?
