I know of all the joys of butcher block, end grain boards, but what is a knife friendly board that can go through the dish washer? Bonus with a blood groove. I've heard stay away from bamboo because of fine sand the bamboo takes up from how it's grown. Has anything evolved better than plastic?

  2. I'm not sure I know of one.
I think some of the hisoft and/or asahi boards can go thru the washer, but I don't think I've seen one with a juice groove

Thanks! Well no groove is not a deal breaker. I'll check into those two.

I’m looking for a rubber cutting board as well. The Hi-Soft type seem cheapest, the Hasegawa and Asahi a bit more. One vid I saw of the Hi-soft had it flexing a bit from its own weight.

    Anyone use rubber boards?

I've used the asahi boards for a long time and highly recommend them - they're harder than the hi-soft and perform very well. I haven't put it through the dishwasher (too big) but it cleans up well.
