Markin Andrey's knife gallery.

Discussion in 'Andrei' started by Andrei, Jan 27, 2018.

  1. I want to show you two large knives.
In the first photo, the knife below is made of steel, stainless sanmai with a central layer of steel K390 64HRC, symmetrical convex blade 230/65 / 4mm. Stabilized bog oak and buffalo horn are used on the handle.
The second knife is made of 52100 63HRC steel. Blade 240/60 / 4.5mm. symmetric convex.
The handle is made from African blackwood.
I don't often have to make knives of this size, so this kind of work is always interesting.

I like that pattern. Reminds me of a mountain range landscape.

Exactly what I thought. Then I scrolled down and saw your comment. It’s wild!

  13. This is not a table, although making such a table is a good idea! Once I came to the conclusion that I need to photograph knives on something beautiful, after much thought I came up with the idea to stick veneer on plywood, then there was a long search for veneer, I was not satisfied with the quality or the small selection of wood species. As a result, I had to go to Moscow for 500 km just to buy a beautiful, high-quality veneer.
Then I cut out five pieces of plywood 80/80cm. and glued them on both sides with veneer, which took me three days, when I had an idea with veneer in my head, I didn’t think that everything would be so difficult, but I had to go to the end .
I liked the result, I will need to think about the table, thanks for the idea!
