This is my EDC because it is my only penknife - the garden needs a lot of attention now and I`m going to my friend`s allotment for fruit & veg this Summer so I take this.
    I like chunky sharpies !
I`ve never really had the need for penknives or outside knives but I got a little pocket one last year.
It`s only a budget one but I think it`s okay.
Was shaving sharp OOTB and used it on the oak outside my kitchen with no noticeable dulling.
    4 inch blade , 1/4 inch thick , 13.26 ounces , 8CR13MOV Stainless
    Chinese 8CR13MOV Stainless
I am led to believe that this is an AUS 8 equivalent Chinese budget steel with average hardness, toughness and corrosion resistance but low edge-retention.
I like my knives in the 58-61 HRC range for a balanced steel ; I am not bothered about sharpening it more often or more potential for rusting ; I`m used to iron and carbon steel tools.

  3. I love `em Toothpick - living in the East for so long fundamentally changed my philosophy and approach to knives and cooking.
This mini cleaver goes through wood rather well and is quite tough so food in the field is easily dealt with.
I`ve used it as a pry-bar too because it can take abuse.

  5. If you only have one knife - like a folding cleaver or a caidao - it has to be versatile.
