so life has given me a real twist and i need some pots and pans for a bachelor. as i look for a stable job i have to keep things on a budget but i dont want to get crap. for now a 2Qt pot and and 10" pan have been my most used when im not grilling or using my crock pot. i have some cast iron so im thinking nonstick type. working over electric glass top stove. what are some good options

If you're starting over, I'd go to Goodwill are treating them as disposable until you're stable.
I always liked Demeyere but it's not cheap. Al-Clad is the more affordable alternative, still not cheap.
My dad gave me a Hexclad pan, as seen on TV and Facebook, and it has been surprisingly not bad.

T-fal stuff from Wally World is actually pretty decent stuff if you treat it right and it's priced right.

I picked up a stainless steel set from JC Penny back in 2014. They have held up just fine. I think it was a JCP brand. Wasn't that expensive. Still going strong.

I have a set of stainless pans made by Demeyer under the Zwilling label. They're great. They've discontinued them, but there are a couple fry pans from a different Zwilling line (Aurora) made by Demeyer on clearance at Cutlery & More (https://cutleryandmore.com/products/zwilling-aurora-frypan-set-39859#). They're on a clearance sale 2 fry pans for $79, reg $180 (8" and 9.5".) Basically the Demeyer 5-ply line, although the Auroras have rivets inside. (Mine don't have rivets--I never want pans with rivets again. SO easy to clean without them.) Not nonstick, but really easy to clean unless you scorch something.

Agreed on the rivets. I won't buy a pan with rivets.

been fighting rivets on pans for years. found out house has usable pans so i wil not need to upgrade till down the road (i ll deal with it). i like to do roasts and other large cuts but since i dont eat much i will need to save the leftovers (before i get sick of eating the same thing). had a cabelas vac seal unit but thats not coming with me. just looking at a unit that say after i cook a roast or a turkey breast that i can slice down make small bags for lunch meat or portions for later dinners out of the freezer.
