This is an open invitation to anyone traveling this way to invite me to lunch or dinner!

Seriously though, I'm always willing to give an objective opinion on any restaurant in the area, and am more than happy to help you plan your culinary escapades.

I'll be working my ass off, but would also be happy to help you plan. However, be aware most restaurants are booked, as of last jazz fest.

Years ago I traveled to New Orleans somewhat frequently. There was a place in Gretna, LA that was in an old house. It served excellent food. You had to go through a fairly rough area to arrive at the restaurant and when you got there there was valet service for your auto. I recall that only the person paying the bill got a menu with prices on it and that ladies were offered a small foot stool for their feet.

I have tried to recall the name of this restaurant but for the life of me can't remember it. I recall it was named after the chef-owner. Do you recall this wonderful place? Is it still in business?

Jim, Is that Le Ruth that you mentioned across the street on the other board? I've never heard of a restaurant like this, so it was probably well before my time.

Great write up on Le Ruth by Tom Fitzmorris, local food critic. It's a great story with a really sad ending.
