AEB-L Batch 3 - AVAILABLE!!

Discussion in 'CJA Edged Art / Scorpion Forge' started by CrisAnderson27, Feb 3, 2017.

  1. Heya guys!! So, I decided to put together another batch of 200mm and 250mm AEB-L stainless gyuto, and 150mm by 50mm AEB-L stainless tall petty knives. The 200mm and 250mm knives will be available in both standard and XH (extra heavy) geometry. Pre-order pricing will be $500 for the petty knives, $700 for the 200mm standard, $750 for the 200mm XH, $800 for the 250mm standard, and $850 for the 200mm XH. I also have three 90mm paring knives left over from the last batch, which will be priced at $400. This pricing includes my standard flared dual taper handle in one of my base stabilized burl materials. Other handle options are available at an additional cost.

Also, I'm going to be doing 30 AEB-L straight razors out of this batch...priced between $650 and $850 base depending on which of the two models you choose, and final pricing depending on finish options and options for the scales.

If you're interested in pre-ordering, the deposit is $200, with the remainder due upon completion. Pricing is less PayPal fees and shipping, but I am also able to do Chase QuickPay for domestic orders, which is not only incredibly convenient, but is also free to both parties (no, your bank will not charge you...promise!).

Let me know, and I'll get you down for it. These usually go really quickly so if you want one, don't wait!

    Currently available:

    6x 250mm XH (extra heavy) Gyuto - $850
    5x 210mm XH (extra heavy) Gyuto - $750

    2x 210mm Standard Gyuto - $700

    So frustrating! :(:cool::mad::confused::jump

  12. Ah brother! We'll get something in your hands eventually!

    As for what's left:

    1x 250mm XH (extra heavy) Gyuto - $850
    2x 250mm Standard Gyuto - $800
(These can be shortened to whatever length the customer wants, but the price remains the same.)

    3x 150 x 50mm Tall Petty - $550

    2x 90mm Paring Knife - $400

  13. Hi Cris, could you please post what's available at the moment? thanks

  14. Will do my friend! Give me a few to get down to the shop and I'll check. I'm pretty sure all that's left is a few 250's (maybe one XH?), and one 210XH though.

  15. Sorry for the delayed response, I had a lot of weirdly timed sales on these knives go through over the last day or so!

    This is what is remaining:
    3x 250mm Standard Gyuto - $800
1x 210mm XH (extra heavy) Gyuto - $750 (this one is possibly sold, but not for certain yet).
    1x 90mm Parer - $400

I most likely won't be doing another batch before I shut down for the move towards the end of the year...though I will likely pick up at least one stick of AEB-L specifically for 150x50mm petty knives (which have become crazy popular now that I have none left lol).

Speaking of, if you guys had a choice, would you want XH tall petty's instead of the standard grind? Starting price would be $650 each to help make up for the added labor involved in shaping the heavier knife. Cutting efficiency is similar between the two, though the XH is a bit stiffer overall (and has a 5mm neck lol). Cost to you all is the major part of why, previously...I didn't do XH petty knives unless one of the bigger XH knives snapped. If you all want though I'll do it. I personally love the XH/XT petty knives...it's just hard for me to justify a whole batch if only a couple people feel the extra price is worth it.

  16. Hi Cris, since I've already the XH Petty, I'd like to have one stainless with standard grind...

  17. Done!

Annnnd this is what is remaining:
    2x 250mm Standard Gyuto - $800
1x 210mm XH (extra heavy) Gyuto - $750 (this one is possibly sold, but not for certain yet).
    1x 90mm Parer - $400

  18. Cris,

Put me in line for a AEB-L petty. I don't really have a preference on the thickness, so I would probably go with the standard grind based off the cost.

    Mike
