It has been brought to my attention that the new blocks I'm selling as Lignum Vitae may actually be Verawood, also known as Argentine Lignum Vitae. These two species are very closely related and have similar grain patterns, colors, smells, specific gravities and Janka hardness. They are so similar it is very hard to tell them apart.

I apologize if I've unintentionally mislead anyone and I'm posting this thread as a full disclosure. As always, Dream Burls sales are backed by a no questions asked money back guarantee. If you've already purchased any of these blanks and want to return them I'll also refund your return postage.

I've often wondered how you wood guys can keep all of the beautiful stuff you sell straight, and remember which wood is which, etc. the fact that you brought this to our attention, when nobody (other than Mark, and likely Son) would have ever known says a lot about you, Myron. Class act, all the way! :)

Thanks Tom. Us wood guys spend a lot of time with our "babies". Like I told my wife, if I can't tell one blank from another I'm in the wrong business. Having said that, even after two years at this I'm still learning and sometimes you learn your best lessons by making mistakes.

As a follow up, I've lowered the price on these pieces by $10 a block and refunded that amount to all those who have already purchased one of them. At Dream Burls, customer satisfaction is our number one priority.
