Lefty Yanagiba (Picture heavy)

    Hey guys. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

    Its been a while but I finally finished this one and wanted to share a few photos.

    The 300mm blade is HHH Damascus. HT to RC 61 Ground Lefty. Rounded spine and choil.
    Handle is African black wood with stainless and ivory spacers. and butt cap.
    Im pleased with the way this one came together. I was trying for a classy cool look. The handle layout and spacers were inspired by a handle I saw recently from Cris Anderson. The blade itself. being a lefty. was a first for me. It actually turned out better then I had hoped and the grinds on this Yani are just right. [​IMG] First knife of 2016. so it had to be GOOD!

    I paired it with a Matching Black wood saya. Nothing super fancy but effective. I feel it complements the knife well.

    My pictures leave alot to be desired. I need to get a new camera BAD!

    This is seriously clean work Randy!!...and I've got to say I'm more than a little honored to have any part in its inspiration :D.

    Funny story...I always look at the pictures first when looking at your posts (is there any other option???), and was thinking to myself 'SUPER clean!! That handle definitely looks like something I'd make!' lol. You have no idea how big I smiled when I saw my name in the text lol.
