  2. WAY back I had bought a DMT (I think) angle guide thing that was supposed to attach to my blade and help set the angles. I tried to use it ONE time lol...and in the bin it went. This looks much more user friendly. Consistent edge angle was definitely something I struggled with on long kitchen knives at the beginning.

    Want to mention this guide doesn't scratch up the blade face as much as some others do . They make great gifts along with painters tape.

    I used one of these on a Chinese cleaver. Pretty amusing result, but sharp for one or two cuts.

    The angle this guide provides is based on blade height and IMO it's not going to work well on cleavers since that angle would be too shallow.
