NEW INVENTORY IN THE STORE NOW

I've just added two new natural hardwood species to my store (ww.dreamburls.com): Hopea "Stone" Burl and Lignum Vitae. You can see some pictures of some of these blanks in my previous post "Up Next at Dream Burls". Lignum Vitae is one of the hardest, densest woods out there, right up there with Ironwood. Hopea Burl is right up there in hardness as well, but also has some amazing figure that's comprised of extremely tight, swirly grain. It really does look like fingerprints and will surely make a uniquely visual handle. I also put in some more blanks of Gabon Ebony and Curly Anigre. Both of these species have been stabilized by K&G.

You will also note that I've started to include measurements in mm as well as inches. I hope that helps all you metrics out there

 

I had to snipe a piece of that Hopea Burl. It looked incredible. I don't have a project in mind for it just yet but didn't want to miss out on this I've been thinking about it ever since you first posted a picture of it!

Myron, Your link in the top line is missing one of those w thingys, (ww.dreamburls.com), but I found you again anyway. I have more blocks than knives but they sure are tempting...
