Hello!
I'm a hobby bladesmith and I only forge kitchen knives, I trained as a chef and spent several years working the kitchens, collecting and using knives was my favourite part of it, I always loved the Japanese styles the most. As much as I loved the job I ended up changing professions, my passion for cooking and my love for knives still remain and a year ago I inherited an anvil and decided to learn how to make knives that I'd love to own.
I recently just found this forum after looking for inspiration on the ideal dimensions for the knives I make.



I taught myself to wet forge and work mainly in Paper #2 (I even have a few bits of #1!) I love the allure of the hamon and spend an obsessive amount of time experimenting with them, I also love unique handles and have recently fallen in love with resin casting, I have a heavy duty vacuum and pressure setup that I use to stabilize and cast pieces, my most recent being old driftwood. I also like to forge weld coins into Mokume gane ingots and use them in the handles.

Here's some pics of my recent work. I'm always experimenting with shapes and have yet to settle on an ideal shape but I'll get there.
