    Thank you all! I apologize for not having posted here before. I didn't realize this thread existed. I just noticed I had a message, which turned out to be from Jim welcoming me and came over here. I got quite a few knives and and stones back in the old days, between 2005 and 2008 and posted regularly on Knife Forums in the in the kitchen section (Steverino there too). When I decided I couldn't afford to buy more knives, I drifted away. Recently I've gotten interested again, bought a couple of knives (Kochi and DT ITK), one new stone and started trying seriously to improve my sharpening. I went back to Knife Forums and didn't like what I saw. Luckily I found Kitchen Knife Forums and this board and am looking forward to participating. I guess I need to get an avatar.
