Okay, you got me: I also regret that you're probably faster around WGI (and Summit) than I am.

Other than those things, my life is, of course downright perfect.

 

Dang, it's been 5 years since I have driven the Glen, and 2-1/2 years since I have driven on the track at all. But I should get that remedied later this year.

Email just sent to all attendees for the Zaytinya dinner on Saturday night (May 20).

 

I need to get going on sharpening.

 

at this point i might only have whata i have shown on here along with a few steak knives and a xl nakiri (maybe a few razors ) is DC sharp coming again this year?

 

I've only heard back from one of the 2 brothers so far, and he is going to be out of town that weekend. I'll try and find out about the other tomorrow.

Butch, can you please bring your razor tool kit with you? I have one of your straights that needs a fastener or two tightened, and I do not have the proper driver bit(s).

 

About how many people are you expecting Sunday (not counting spouses, "significant others," kids, etc. -- though clearly they count)?

 

Right now only about 30 that seem positive about coming, with about 6 of them being spouses/ SOs. At this point no kids that I know of bedsides my 4-year-old. I have emails out to a few forum members I have not heard anything from, as well as to a few area chefs to see if I can get the crowd increased a little. I hoping we wind up with closer to 40.

 

The more people walking around with super-sharp pointy knives, the better. I guess.

 

I'm doing my best to get some non forum members over, and the more knives they can see/ hold try out the better the chance that some of them might appreciate starting to look into knives other then Wusthoffs.

i will try to remamber to bring the kit i shoudl just toss a T6 driver in the truck tomorrow to be safe

Sorry this is so close to the gathering date, but I have a recently finished knife on loan at Momo Fuku Ssam Bar. Anyone interested on swooping it up on their way to the gathering? Let me know and we can arrange the pick up. So sad I can't be there for this one.

 

If anyone from the restaurant is going down to check on the DC operation, I can pick it up from the DC location on Saturday afternoon, as we'll be less than a block away for the Zaytinya dinner.

 

Since almost everyone has smartphones with cameras these days, I request one gazillion of photos from the event. Pretty please!
