There's a certain poetry going from guacamole and sweet tea, through garlic to toothpaste. Lucritia knows how to turn a phase or 2.

At least I didn't have the garlic buffalo chicken with vanilla coffee.

Chives are up and growing. Time for a little scrambled egg & smoked salmon.

A local pub has a great breakfast sammie--fried egg & ham on grilled sourdough with melted cheddar, mayo, and mustard. Had some sourdough but no ham, so used a little smoked pork instead. Wickedly good. It may become a regular breakfast item at Casa Lucretia.

20150310_083237.jpg That sanguich looks great! One of the first things I ever learned to cook as a kid, and now my kids are making them. We call them Birds nests. I've heard other names.

    Daaaammmnnnn! That looks great.

I settled for plain oatmeal in a shaker bottle...

  10. Daughters asked for 'breakfast for dinner', and I know they were thinking waffles, bacon, fruit and pastries. Instead I served the broccoli-est frittata I've ever made. Some groans at first, but they recovered.

Just showed this to my picky nine year old. 'Would you eat this? " raised her eyes a little , and nodded in approval. You da man Neil.

    Mike,

I actually run the "Birds Nest" as a breakfast special at a couple of the accounts I oversee. OLD SCHOOL

    Toad in the hole!

Neal, that frittata looks great. I'd eat it for dinner any time.

  14. Porridge with some dried fruits at home, bacon sandwich a work.
Nothing special about it so didn't take any pictures. :)

Asparagus is really coming in to season now, and spotted this at the grocery yesterday:

    SignsOfSpring1.jpg

So for breakfast this morning, some ham, egg, & asparagus with hollandaise. And a hunk of sourdough and a glass of freshly squeezed murcott (honey tangerine) juice.

  20. Those dishes look fantastic! Great combo Lucretia...for a dinner we're hosting this coming Easter, one of the courses I was contemplating is asparagus, prosciutto and a soft poached egg. Your plate inspires me to go with it!
