Is a dull knife more dangerous than a sharp knife?

I was always taught that a dull knife is dangerous because when one trys to use it it will have a tendency to slip once force is applied and where it goes, no body knows. It is one of those old axioms that may not be as axiomatic as once thought. I've noticed that I get some nicks and cuts from errant incidental touching of sharp knives that I would not from dull ones. I am probably one of those guys you all are talking about who really doesn't know how to use his knives.

No doubt this! Don't like getting cut with either, but I'll take the sharp blade any day--the cuts give enough time to get the crazy glue before the bleeding starts.
