  1. That Tansu looks great, but I think I looove the grind.

  2. Down down the rabbit hole we go!!

  3. Ebony handle finishes it off nicely, imo

  4. Yeh a bit different isn't it. Probably not everyone's taste but from only a quick test, the performance is fantastic :like

  5. Me too. An absolute cracker!!

I have a Masakage Yuki 150 petty. A very nice little knife. stainless clad over #2 I think. Yours looks nicer though as I did not treat the handle and it now shows some evidence of use.

  7. Stainless clad over #2. Great little knife but not sure if I should have gone for the 150mm.
Only had a couple of test runs and it performs really well and why the handle still looks 'clean and shiny'
I have given it a light rub down with homemade mix of bees wax and food grade paraffin oil.

  8. Sorry, just realized my mistake in reply:fp
    I don't have a Tansu in the photo(wish I did...Mert, Mert you there....we need to talk)

I've wondered how that Kageura performs. Would love to hear how you get along with it

  13. I've only given it a quick test so far and I'm lovin it. Have fairly large hands so the extra height is appreciated. The photos a bit crappy but the bevel is awesome and the coppery, bronzy colour Damascus is pretty funky.
Good belly for a rocker and even push cutting, imo. One other plus is the stainless tang.
If I could change one thing and probably will, that would be a bigger handle but that's just for my benefit.

A transient acquisition because I'm just trying it, but still should be a lot of fun.

    Looks like an old takeda

  17. Looks promising, keep us updated how it cuts and how much the grind helps with food release...
