  1. So far (2 days) it has done all the tasks very well. :D
It has an asymmetric convex grind. 0.2..0.3mm behind the cutting edge. But I need more time to get to know it.

Congratulations to the Oatleys, I really like his s-grind.

  2. Mr Oatley makes a killer knife. Have a suji already and pretty sure a stainless yanagi from him is in my future.

  3. Comet nakiri renamed nakisildur because of an accident andTrey sold it to me for peanuts .

  4. Like the veggies, like the chopping board, like Tery's knife and like the precise cuts you've done there!

Are his mono steel knives the same grind as his Damasteel/Damascus?

Not this one. This is his "wide bevel" grind, which is just simply stupid thin behind the edge as well.

Nice, Home Butcher? They seemed to have some pretty nice deals.

Good call, Matt. 20% off on Black Friday was hard to resist. They've gotten a good bit of my knife slush fund lately.

  13. Robin Dalman - 265x60mm mizu-honyaki W2/15n20 feather damascus (forged by Randy Haas)

  14. I just can' stop staring at this knife... until I saw this, I didn't even know Mizu-honyaki Damascus was a thing!

  15. Me too - but I'll find the strength to use it - someday:)

Saw that one on Dalmans IG and my jaw dropped. I wonder, is there any sort of visible hardening line on the Damascus?

  17. I can kind of see a hamon, I think. Might be the lightning of the photo though

  18. It has sort of a compromise finish (wanted to show the feather clearly) 31073791vc.jpg so the hardening line shows only in some angles, like a mist on top.

That's pretty cool. Thanks for the pic.
