It's not shiny until it's really shiny .. I can't take pictures without my finger marks on it but I can clearly see my bald head from the reflection

Another 240mm gyuto , I was trying a flatter and shorter profile on this one . It is in 52100, the handle is Meiji style tapered d made from Australian Beefwood and buffalo horn. The knife has more like a workhorse grind , 47mm at the heel and has very good food release , one of the best cutters I have made

Your work went from functional. To, myself imagining that beautiful knife in my hand. Less than a year has passed from when I saw your first ones. I am absolutely amazed Mert. The makers mark, the idea of perfection in your mind, the beautiful fit and finish. I am stunned by what you are making now. So young of a blacksmith and making such amazing work. I would be honored to have one of these. I will be having one soon.

Thank you for your kind words Brad , you guys are giving me more credit than you should for the fit & finish and the handles . I want my knives to have good heat treatment , good grinds and to cut , cut very well. It has been less than a year I started but one thing I learned in cooking I believe translates into knife making same: you are as good as the last plate (knife) you have done.Hopefully next knife will be better than last one I made
