This evening I took possession of a new commercial microwave (chef Mike as Knyfenerd says). So I took all the crumbs from the bottom of a tortilla chip bag, poured them into a ramekin, mixed in some pre-shredded cheese, then topped it with some more. Once I was done heating it up for 42 seconds, I took just the juice from some salsa and drizzled it on top. I then consumed this inglorious meal.

(no pictures available, but I can recreate it in about 1.5 minutes)

That sounds like us at work... we take the left over mashed potatoes and some of the leftover cream corn or the cream spinach and top it with the soup du jour because it all gets tossed at the end of the night but we don't pay for it so hey.. E-Meal is on! :D

My better half and I both worked late last night, so we had breakfast for dinner. It's what we had in the house, and it was quick/easy. Portobello mushroom and black forest ham frittata, sausage, and sharp Vermont aged cheddar on Trader Joe's biscuits (*gasp*... but they're really good)

Hong Kong style Chinese sausage clay pot rice.
first, cook rice with cured meat, 2 different kind of Chinese sausage in clay pot.....
20140201_184724.jpg than, cut all sausages, mix with leek, Shaohsing wine & homemade Hong Kong style sweet soy sauce

I love the after pic. The look on his face says "I'm absolutely stuffed to the gills, but I don't know when I'm going to see a spread like this again, so I'm going to keep on eating until I burst."

Note to self: investigate Hong Kong style sweet soy sauce.

it is quite easy to make- 1(soy sauce):1 (water):1(surge), 4 pieces Star anise, 1~2 piece Cinnamon stick & 1 green onion
boiling all ingredient for few minuts....done!
Hong Kong style sweet soy sauce go well with all Chinese BBQ, but not match up good with any western & Japanese foods I know of.

Regrettably, no pictures, as it was a very attractive plate, but tonight was a pork loin with my own dry rub on the Kamado & grilled asparagus w/olive oil, sea salt and just a sprinkle of garlic on the Weber. Mrs. Mountaineer contributed oven roasted red potatoes.
