What's cooking?

Some of you may have seen this on Instagram, but this is what my wife and I had last night. Grilled Chicken Sliders with a parsley pesto. We got the recipe out of the "Chopped" cookbook that someone gave us for Christmas. A couple weeks ago my wife and I decided that one night a week, we would wait to make dinner until after we put our two little girls to bed. Then We would cook dinner together, in peace, and enjoy a meal. So I made the pesto and grilled the chicken, and she toasted the buns and made sweet potato fries. After doing this for a couple weeks, it has expanded our palates and given us some quality time together.

The pesto is what made the meal. I'm not used to making my own, and now I will never go back. I want pesto on everything now.

A special meal indeed. More couples might want to jump on that waggon and start doing that.

    Looks tasty!

Is that cilantro in the soup? Whatever camera you are using is unreal. It looks like I can pick it right out of the screen and eat it.

Jason, that is cilantro, good eye :) The camera is from my cell phone, so I'm just lucky that they are getting better every year. If they weren't, my g/f would be getting a little testy with me asking her to take pictures of every meal we eat.
